Zeolite for Better Health
Zeolite has many beneficial applications for health and wellbeing. In this instance we will focus on using zeolite minerals in first aid applications and for purifying water.
During emergency situations, the supply of clean water may be interupted or contaminated. Water is our next most important requirement for survival after air. It can be a challenge to store or carry enough water for such eventualities. You may find yourself in a situation where you have to use water that is questionable in its suitability for human consumption. What to do?
There are several purification options available commonly found in camping stores. They usually take the form of tablets that can be added to your water container, portable water filters or you can boil your water.
Each of these alternatives do have some minor disadvantages. Tablets contain chemicals that are not always desirable, water filters take up valuable space and add to the weight of your backpack if you need to evacuate and setting up a campfire to boil water is not always an option when evacuating.

Then Puri-Z natural zeolite active mineral powder is the choice for you. How do I use it?
Add 1/2 a level teaspoonful to a 200 ml glass of water or 3 level teaspoonfuls to a 2 Lt bottle and skake or stir. The water will turn pinkish brown in colour. Allow the active mineral particles to settle to the bottom of the glass or bottle. This will take about 10 minutes, leaving the upper part of the water as a cloudy suspension of colloidal minerals. Drink the cloudy solution and leave the sediment in the bottom of the container. If you have the time available, leave the solution 24 hours to settle and the liquid will be quite clear. Pour off the clear liquid into another container and add more water to the sediment and repeat the process. You can re-use the sediment in this way at least 3 or 4 times. What is zeolite?
In composition, zeolites are similar to clay minerals. They are both alumina-silicates but zeolites differ in their crystalline structure. Clays have a sheet like crystalline structure which is layered similar to a deck of cards. Zeolites have a rigid, three dimensional crystalline structure, similar to a honeycomb, which consists of interconnected network of tunnels and cages. Clays are subject to swelling and shrinking as water is absorbed and removed between the layers but water moves freely in and out of zeolite pores while the framework remains rigid. Greater internal surface areas give zeolites greater capacity to deliver added nutrients in through the skin; such as essential oils and herbal extracts and in turn, perform powerful detoxification by absorbing, trapping, neutralizing and removing toxic matter.

The surface of a zeolite cell carries a naturally occuring electro-magnetic charge. This is a negative charge which emits negative ions. This negative charge gives zeolite the ability to attract, absorb and trap positively charged pollutants from its surrounding environment.
High Cation Exchange Energy
The cation exchange capacity (CEC) of a mineral, shows its capacity for a chemical reaction to take place. Clays have the ability to exchange caions in this way but the ability of zeolite is much greater. Active clay may have a cation exchange capacity of 20-90cec/100meq but zeolites exhibit 120-149cec/100meq and higher, giving them a more potent energy.

Zeolite appears to remove toxins from the body in an hierarchical order
It first acts strongly to remove lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic. This first phase may take 1 - 4 weeks or longer. Next it removes second priority toxins including pesticides, herbicides and plastics. Then it removes xeno-oestrogens from the body excreting them through the urine. It also seems to neutralize the aflatoxin poison.
They are 100% excreted
Heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides all leave the system, they do not get deposited elsewhere in the body. Forty percent of zeolite binds heavy metals in the gastro-intestinal tract, and sixty percent binds toxins in the bloodstream and at a cellular level. Zeolites binding power was proven during the Chernobyl disaster, where tons of zeolite was used to remove radio-active cesium and strontium-90 before it contaminated local water systems. Acting primarily as a chelator, zeolite trapped these radio-active minerals within its crystalline cage structure.
A third function
Is that zeolite seems to be able to trap pre-virus components, preventing the replication of viruses and their ability to make us sick. In Cuba, zeolite has been used to produce an anti-diarrhea medicine which successfully treats dysentry, food poisoning and other gastro-intestinal dis-orders.

The research states, “concentrations of 12, 25 and 50 mg/ml of MZ induced a significant inhibitory effect upon viral proliferation“. “Preliminary results indicate a possibility of therapeutical application of Micronized Zeolite, either locally (skin) against herpes virus infections or orally in cases of adenovirus or enterovirus infections.” Indications are that Micronised Zeolite has the ability to slow down or even stop replication of viruses.
