Mica or muscovite, is not a clay as such but a component of some clays when analysed. It is a natural mineral as opposed to cosmetic glitter micas. With a pearlescent sheen, mica is a superlative additive to spa mud formulations.
It is used in mineral make up and in loose face powders for its light reflecting qualities which give the skin a more youthful appearance.
Added to skin products it has a soothing and calming effect on the skin, especially the red inflammation that often surrounds angry acne pustules. Add to bath soaks for a truly calming effect.
